Headed back to the heart of the city to a supermarket that ex-pats use called Nakumatt. Bought olive oil, postcards for K, clothes washing detergent. R bought some easy reader books to use in an English class she will start after we leave.
Taxi back to St. Paul guesthouse to gather our bag and to catch twege to Kayenzi.
We refused to get on one twege because it was already so full. They don't leave until it is totally full - 19 people, I think. So, we got on another twege and sat and waited. After almost an hour, they told us to get off and get on another one. Took off for the 1 1/2 hours to Kayenzi. Somewhere along the way it started to rain. By the time we arrived in Kayenzi, it was pouring. R lives about 1 1/2 miles from the heart of Kayenzi. It's like she is on one ridge of hill and Kayenzi proper is on another ridge. R talked the twege driver into driving us to the health center for $4000 rwf. We stopped along the way and picked up a man who was drunk. Turns out he is the gatekeeper for the health center. Gate was already open so there was no problem.
This arrival at R's house was easy compared to our first time. We were all feeling so well that we read that night and was so much more at ease.
