Back to Kigali

Tuesday, April 26 - left hotel after breakfast to walk to bus station to catch Stella Express back to Kigali. We were walking on the side of the road. I was pulling the suitcase and first. I looked up and recognized a face. It was papa Innocent. It is amazing how you feel when you see someone you know. He ended up riding the bus with us as he was going to Kigali to send money to his daughters who live and go to school in Kenya so they could come home this weekend. Sound familiar?!
Papa 1 and Papa 2
At the bus station Rachel told someone that this was her papa and then turned to the other and said that he was her papa. The guy looked at both and shook his head. The cost of the bus ride for 4 of us was about $7.50. There are 790 Rwandan francs to the dollar.
Joe was feeling bad again so K, R and I  went to exchange money for the second time. Katherine said it was the first time she was a millionaire. Bought more rehydration salts for Joe.
Rachel wanted to go to Inema Art Gallery for lunch and to see the gallery. Sandwiches were wonderful. One of the brother artists, Nkurunziza Innocent, did a residency at UNC-Wilmington.
Next went to ex-pat section of town to Abraham Konga's jewelry shop. He is the only jewelry maker in Rwanda. Many good craft type items to see. A monsoon rain came up while we were in the store so we probably stayed 2 hours. He recycles by using old brass locks to make some of his jewelry.

Rachel wanted to eat at different places that she can't afford on her stipend so we went to an Ethiopian restaurant. Great food!
