Market Day

Friday is market day in Kayenzi so we walked to town for that. Our first stop was at one of the two restaurants where we had lunch. Our plates had rice, beans, fries, taro root , meat (all meat here is very tough), sauce (gravy) with either bottled water or a Coke. Cost was $6000  ($7.60).
Rachel needed petrol for her stove. There was a man sitting down with jugs around him. We watched him poured fuel into a little plastic bag and tie it and give it to someone. Rachel had a plastic bottle. She says that it is expensive at $900 ($1.15 per liter). She some produce - green pepper for $100 ($.12) green beans for $100 ($.12) and onions for $200 ($.25). The produce looked very nice.

We were definitely stared at the whole time. I don't know if I have mentioned the Rwandan stare. People will stop and stare. In the US, you never want to get caught staring but here it is not seen as rude.
R made egg fried rice for dinner from leftover rice from the day before.
After dinner we had a great game of Phase 10.
